Does anyone know of a good phone dialer software that has a feature where you can start to dial the name of a contact in your addressbook and it will pull up the options. much like the system on the smartphone? it is to cumbersome to try to look up contacts withone hand while on the move.

Try .Mobile Contacts. It is a contacts replacement application with a built in dialer.

Very cool. There is a review on Geekzone.co.nz

Does Phone Plus differs from Microsoft 2003 in build dialer???

Yes, Phone Plus (PP) is quite different from the built in dialer.

PP lets you search for any contact just by typing their name on the keypad. It then displays matching names as you type, similar to the way T9 works. You can usually find the name you want after pressing 2 or 3 buttons depending on how many contacts you have. Best of all, this can all be done with one hand. Also, there is a photo contact button on the keypad that lets you assign a photo for up to 99 contacts and you can select your contact that way as well.

I've been using this program since I got my ipaq h6315 and it meets my needs better than the other products mentioned in this thread. I think they all have trial periods available, so it's probably worth your while to try them out and see which one you like best.

The one nit that I have with PP is that if you're dialing a number that needs keyboard input after the connecton (such as entering a password to get your voice mail) you have to go to the main dialer program to enter the keys - the PP keys don't seem to work. It's not a big deal since the icon for the main dialer in on the PP screen, but it's a nuisance that I hope future versions can eliminate.

I also use V-tech Quick Contacts Pro for easy one handed dialing and V-Tech's Voice Dialer software for voice dialing. These sodtwares are easy to use and very reliable. They add a phone like functionality to the h6315 pocket pc. Actually they work better in many ways than the built in software on the Sony Erisson T-610 which I previously owned.

Use Microsoft Voice Command 1.5. I have it loaded on my SX56. You can tell it to dial a certain contact, and if that contact has more than one number (home, work, mobile) then it will asks whcih one it should dial. Alternatively you can tell it to dial the number out right (i.e.: dial 555-5555).
