Great find! Mine is ordered and on its way for next day delivery...

I guess I won't be buying the Dell Axim X50v after all -- the 4-inch screen sealed the deal for me. Don't listen to what "they" say -- Size DOES matter!

I'll flesh-out my accessory purchases later after I see what I'm working with out of the box. Has anyone seen whether the extended battery adds depth to the unit like that monstrosity on the 2215 did?

The extended battery certainly LOOKS... well, extended. Just gaze upon this image for a while:

The thicker one is the extended battery. The somewhat flatter one is the regular battery.

I still can't tell from that animated gif. It looks like the battery is sinking down into the charger unit and not a thinner model. I guess what I will want to know is whether the extended capacity battery fits inside the units stock footprint or bumps-out on the back like some others. It may entail someone taking one for the team and actaully buying / outfitting a real unit to see.

There isn't anything wrong with a bump-out as long as you can get a case that accomidates it. If not, I'll be using two of the lower capacity units rather than one high capacity. The low capacity batteries fit nicely in most leather cases in the business card slot.

Well, I had a 10% off coupon sitting in my email just waiting for something like this. It was for a maximum of $50.00, so I got it for 584.08 plus tax. I went for the budget shipping.

fwiw, I already had one on order from ecost for 563.18, but had to pay for shipping and had to wait until 4705 ship next week. I guess that I will have to cancel my order with ecost once Buy.com gives me notice of shipping,

I ordered my 4705 on Thursday morning and Buy.COM still isn';t showing it as shipped. I paid for Overnight shipping, but I may not have it until the middle to end of next week at this point. Needless to say, I'm not a happy camper...

Same here. I wonder if they really have them in stock. I've bought things from them before where it took about 4 days for them to send me an email stating the item was backordered.

Where did you get this graphic -- and by default access to info on this battery? I'd like to order one, but I couldn't find it at Mobile Planet or on HP's accessory page.

I just went to HP Shopping, then to iPAQ accessories, then to the hx4700 series. THis is the regular battery (http://www.shopping.hp.com/cgi-bin/hpdirect/shopping/scripts/product_detail/product_detail_view.jsp?BV_SessionID=@@@@0081244000.1096142895@@@@&BV_EngineID=ccceadcmjegiddecfngcfkmdfondfgf.0&product_code=FA257A%23AC3&catLevel=2), and the extended battery (http://www.shopping.hp.com/cgi-bin/hpdirect/shopping/scripts/product_detail/product_detail_view.jsp?BV_SessionID=@@@@0081244000.1096142895@@@@&BV_EngineID=ccceadcmjegiddecfngcfkmdfondfgf.0&product_code=FA258A%23AC3&catLevel=2). The image isn't that great because it's showing the batterys in the charger thing, rather than by themselves.
