Hey guys, I am a total PPC newb.

I have an IPAQ 1910 and am looking for an MP3 player that has a self installer because I don't have a clue what to do with free apps i've downloaded when I unzip 30 small files.

Also....

With the IPAQ 1910, is it running Pocket 2002? Is it ARM? or ... what?

Any assitance would be appreciated. Thanks.

If you're wanting to play MP3s, Windows Media can do that.

And yes, your h1910 runs PPC2002. If you're looking for self-installers, look for the ARM or XScale .cab packages.

When I searched for Windows Media player, i found a version on Microsoft's site that only works with PPC 2003.

Anyone have a link where I can download an appropriate version??

You can find it on the CD you got with the 1910 (unless you want the latest version, but I haven't bothered myself).

While you are at it: from the same CD also install MS Reader so you can read .LIT e-books.

The CD appears to have been lost when I moved recently.

hence my issue

go to the microsoft.com download centre & try some keyword searches. They usually keep their older versions of s/w available there. Just look for media player for PocketPC. you should be able to get ms reader from there too.

I thought I would be able to find a link to the older version of Windows Media Player for Pocket PC, but I couldn't at least not on MS' site. I did find a copy from www.downloads.com here: http://www.download.com/Windows-Media-Player-Pocket-PC-/3000-2176-8423925.html. BTW, if you want to grab Reader, click here: http://www.microsoft.com/reader/downloads/ppc.asp
