A new review (in German) of a pre-release T-Mobile MDA III has been posted by Xonio. Both the article and photos are very detailed:

In a nutshell, the reviewer liked how well both WiFi and Bluetooth are implemented, but was disappointed with the pull-out keyboard, which was found to be a bit flimsy.

In case you can't find the pictures I mentioned above:

There are 19 snapshots altogether. Beneath each pic are navigation links for previous ("zurück") and next ("weiter").

To add to the chorus (or to identify Ryan as a kindred spirit) I can't wait for this device. Here in the states, I'm hearing another week or so.

I wrote sometime back that it was kind of sad that folks were living for the release of Doom III to the point or pirating it then paying for it. Well, that still was sad IMHO but in all fairness, I have smashed my glass house.

You say that it should be released in the states in about a week or so. Who with? T-Mobile or something like Expansy possibily? I would love to test drive one of these somewhere here in St. Louis, MO before dropping my hard earned change  Right now I've been using my trusty 3970 with the GPRS/GSM Ipaq sleeve to use as my primary phoen 8O As you could figure it makes for a rather large phone/pda and I'm not really impressed with the 6315 so I hope this will be the one :devilboy:

From who!? Where'd you hear that?! Come on! Talk! Spit it out!!

Seriously, did you read that somewhere? If so, it's really great news! :D

I do not believe that this device will be Officially released in the USA, any time soon. The MDA II never did make it, and T-Mobile USA is all wrapped up with the iPAQ 6315.
There may be some suppliers/brokers in the US sellinbg this device, but that is all I would hope for.
This did not stop me from getting my MDA II, last year, early October-03, and it won't stop me this time getting the next generation device. Although, this time I think I'm going i-mATE pda2k, BECAUSE I-mATE SUPPORT SEEMS BETTER TO ME. For instance o2 and i-mate have been out with the lates ROM, 1.72, for the current model for sometime, and T-Mobile Germany has yet to get past 1.60.36.
I tried the iPAQ 6315 for about 13 days, but it was a definite downgrade from my MDA II.

Yeah someone on ebay has them for sale saying they are available to ship as of today. They are right at $1000 though.

I just placed an order for it last night. Expansys-usa.com say they will be releasing these items on Sept. 29th. Price was $889.95 plus shipping.

I love my i-mate, but the imate PDA2K is everything i have been waiting for in a pda device.

tekhound - how did your order go with expansys-usa? Did you receive your unit, are you happy with it?
