Hi

Im looking for a program that will convert my concert DVDs audio to MP3, so i can listen to them on my PPC during my commute. (they are DVD video didsks, not DVD audio disks, just to clarify)

Im looking for a reasonably priced solution, but free is best. and it would be nice if the program was easy to use.

thanks

First get SmartRipper (http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/sr.htm). With SmartRipper you can extract the audio trackand save it to a wav file. Then convert the wav to MP3 and you are set.

Just about any DVD copying method would work to get you the sound file from the DVD, but it will result in a looooong untracked wave file.

You can use a freeware/open source program like audacity to split your wave files into smaller tracks and then you convert those tracks into Mp3s.

XMPEG allows you to extract the audio to a number of preferred codecs. Alternatively, you can add custom codecs and rip to those.
