Hey all.. using h6315 pda/phone.

When I connect to etrade.com through PIE and WIFI it works great.

However, when I try using GPRS it loads the first screen and then times out on any subsequent requests. Ditto when I use PayPal via HTTPS. So it seems that HTTPS simply doesn't work when connected via GPRS... not sure what could be wrong here. Have tried using NetFront browser, same thing happens there.

Does anyone have any idea what might be up here? Any suggestions on how I can access etrade with my pocket PC?

Thanks

I don't use etrade, but I do believe some GPRS providers block out certain ports, such as https. What cell phone company do you have? And what data plan?

t-mobile, full data plan. the strange thing is, I can connect to https:// sites for *a while*... maybe 30 seconds to 2 minutes before data just stops being received.

also, ssh access, etc works fine, so it doesnt look like a port problem.

It's almost as if the GPRS connection is going offline at some point, screwing up HTTPS

I have T-Mobile too, with the...erm..."unlimited" plan. ;) Anyway, all ports open and working for me. I believe the connection times out after awhile, but I thought that was more like 5-10 minutes. You may want to open another application (even just ping a server or whatever) and see if that helps at all.

Just tried that; nope. Still times out after posting the first form from the first HTTPS page. Perhaps Ill have to wait til others with h6315s start seeing this sort of problem.
