I looked around and picked up the Mugen 2000mAh extended battery on ebay for $49.99 (the same price as a regular 950mAh battery from Dell). The battery life with the regular batteries seem pretty good already (from what the reviewer said).

the extra battery made it even better. wow.

Felix: I agree, the regular battery life is more than good enough for using it within range of the desktop charger at home or in the office.

I found I needed more battery life when I was traveling and on planes. The 2x battery life let me stay busy (either working of goofing off) in what would normally be boring wasted time.

Mark......

Why not make the battery conform to the whole underside of the device & pack in as much "pow'r she can take capt'n" said like Scotty on Star Trek  ??? judging from the picture a design like that would make it an easy 4000 to 5000 mAh battery.

IMHO, it would make for a cleaner implementation and add a ton of run time to the unit. Alas, this idea may make it too heavy and cost too much yada yada yada.....

Just a thought....

I compromised and got the Mugen 1100. It fits exactly like the regular battery does, but gives me more time than the standard. It's nice to keep a charged up battery in the bag just in case.

The 2000 mAh battery looks to be the same dimensions as the Dell extended battery ( which I may add, is only 1800 mAh ). So pretty cool. I have an extra standard battery that I got from Dell, although these may give me reason to buy another one.

Now only to convince the wife..... <crash> Dreams shattered.

Actually, The 2000mAh battery is quite nice. I agree it looks a bit awkward but it si so cool to be able to use Wifi for so long. I also have the 1100mAh battery from Mugen which is nice too.

(Of course I get them at cost since I'm the distributor for Mugen Power).
