Anyone figure a way to read GMAIL on their PocketPC? using PIE I get a "browser not supported" message. :?

Until they come up with a "plain HTML version" (which they say they're looking at), you won't be able to use Gmail on PIE because Gmail requires some complex JavaScript that PIE doesn't support.

This is so unfortunate :|

Though, I bet with a little coding skill... you could get it to work

actually, with something like Pop goes the gmail (AKA PGTGM)... you can have our outlook (express/normal) check your mail every 5 minutes and sync your ppc wirelessly, I haven't tried it (I don't even have my ppc yet... but I just ordered one tonight (dell axim X30)), but it should work fine.

Congrats on purchasing your PPC.

Do you have a link for PGTGM? I'd be interested in looking at it.

Thanks,
Jon.

I believe I've read a post from DJ Apod that mentioned that he can access Gmail from a PPC using the Access Netfront 3.1 browser, probably the version with Javascript.

Sorry about my post, it was lacking details... I posted this last night at like 4am :P

Anyways, PGTGM is a program that runs a pop3 server on your computer as localhost, and somehow checks your emails, retrieves them, and stores them so outlook (or outlook express) can grab them... it also has little bubble things down in the corner when it checks and detects a new email on gmail :)

Hi galt. Unfortunately, I can't. While I can access the webpage fine, the text boxes for inputting my user name and password are absent. I'm still trying to find a way around this and will let everyone know if I get some kind of way working.

Thanks. I've been on dialup this weekend from the backwoods of pennsylvania. Just fast enough to download forums, just slow enough to prevent me from doing anything else useful!

Welcome to the life of my home. An exchange that supports ADSL! The lines that do not support ADSL (i.e. pair gain :bad-words: ). A house that lives near cable. But not near enough to reap the benefits (again. :bad-words: ). Sure satellite is good. But my wallet isn't. But I can't wait till WiMax becomes established...very very soon I think.

D'oh! Sorry for the misquote, I think I was thinking of this post in this thread:

Just a side note:

Gmail works fine with my NetFront browser - I use it everyday.

...but as he never responded back to your question about how he made it work, I'm not sure what to think.

Ah yeah, I remember that post. Hmmm...I'm still expecting a reply post to that topic funnily enough. Oh well...I can wait. 8)
