My users don't seem to think their PPC needs to be recharged...

Hence, I am looking for a Battery level meter or percentage ICON on the main page to "remind" the users to recharge the PPC.

So far, I found three that only show battery levels after going to programs - <name of program> or in the settings area. One or two also do a battery check. I don't need these, I just need an Icon.

Thanks.

At http://www.freewareppc.com/ under utilities there are at least two programs just on the first page that might do what you're wanting-Powercheck 3.3 and BatteryTimePlus, and possibly more on the later pages.

Personally, I just use the battery/memory monitor included in Wisbar Advance :)

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply and info.
I will look into those.

What's Wisbar Advance?

It's a wonderful utility that mainly solves the problems of programs minimizing instead of closing, but it also has a lot of other features as well.

Once it's installed, you can set it to either close, minimize or ignore certain programs. it can also "skin" the ppc, changing the look of the home screen. There are other settings, such as changing the looks of the date/time, the battery/memory, the taskbar and today bar (to match any theme you install), it's just a great program, and best of all, it's free :)

Check it out, you won't be sorry :)

Hi!, u can also try out Battery Pack Pro 2004.

U can just do a search in the Pocket Gear (http://www.pocketgear.com) or the other freeware programs that can do this at FreewarePPC (http://www.freewareppc.com)

You should also look at Magic Button (http://www.trancreative.com/mb.aspx). It puts a simple battery bar at the top right. It also lets the close button actually close programs and is a nice task switcher, too.

Try SPB Pocket Plus. It puts an "always-there" bar at the top of the screen that shows the battery level. It also adds a TON of functionality to the PDA, such as cool themes, and a today plugin.

I don't recommened Wisbar advance, it was too bloated for me.

I have to second the SPB Pocket Plus approach. The always visible battery indicator at the top of the screen doesn't take any room away from anything else and is there as the Wifi is draining my battery while using PIE. No need to switch back to today to see how much trouble I'm in.

Thanks for the help everyone!

I looked at SPB Pocket Plus. It looks like too many bells and whistles for my users. They shuold only be donig one thing, and that is accessnig the application on the web. Then charging the battery.

I don't want the other items or plug-ins installed or running. As they won't have a PC to sync with or otherwise use the Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.

It looks like Battery Watch will be tested. I just need to get it to run at startup everytime. I am working on that now.

Thanks again!
