Are the price variances in certain software for the Pocket PC? Specifically I am trying to find Spb Pocket plus for under $10 (money is kinda tight at the moment after buying this thing and the fact that programs don't actually close when I hit the x button is driving me nuts.)

You can always go with a free task manager/task closer application (such as Wisbar Advance) Just a thought...

You can get a 15% discount at Hnadango if you subscribe to www.geekzone.co.nz. That'l bring the price from $14.95 to $12.71.

Better yet, do consider some of the free tools out there as Steven suggested.

Software is (usually) cheaper if you buy from the developers own site instead of from some mass-software site like handango or pocketgear. This is because these sites take a large part of the price as comission.
