Are you asking if you need anything else for a complete system?

If so, you may want to add a heatsink and fan.

Thats what I was asking indeed.
The AMD CPU is a retail one and comes with a heatsink and fan included; apologies; I should have stated that.

What are your optical drives?

tsk!! Should have mentioned that too

I got a nice sweet offer on an NEC2510 Dual Layer DVD writer and 17" TFT monitor from another shop.

Windows XP with SATA hard drives requires you to "install the drivers from the A: drive"
apparently in XP SP2 you can do it from a memory stick, but I'm guessing only if you make an XP SP2 CD.

You'll really want a better heatsink and fan. I personally prefer the Thermalright heatsinks. Probably a Mechatronics fan.

Yeah, stock HSFs aren't anything to write home about. How about a waterblock?

That was a good choice, that is a great burner, I've burned about 60 DVDs with mine and not a single coaster yet.

I don't think a third party heatsink/fan is necessary for most use. The stock CPU fan is good enough for most use. I have a stock Intel fan/heatsink and my 2.8GHz is overclocked 10% to 3.07GHz and I am running at ~35 degrees celcius (94 F). If you want to try overclocking or plan on a lot of gaming heavy CPU use, get a third party fan, but I really doubt that watercooling is needed.

Might want to consider upping your ram to a 512 stick. 256 is about lowest I'd go, least reccomended amount for XP. (Not the REQUIRED amount, I know that..)

Actually the most you can afford, or feel willing to spend rather. Its the cheapest way to improve preformance.

Personally I want 4 gigs of it in my next computer. Doubt I'll be able to purchase it all at once though :P

Yeah; I kind of decided to get another stick of ram actually.
I can safely say that this machine will never be overclocked or have any cpu hammering games on it; so I think the CPU fan should be ok. The system isn't actually for me, its for a friends business I should add. the 2 SATA HDDs are going to be ran in a Raid configuration for redundancy.

But thank you for everyones help, much appreciated and I'm ordering the system now.
