PocketBreeze – An Excellent Calendar Today Plugin

I am sure that many of you have had less than pleasant experiences with calendar today plugins that are overly complicated or cumbersome. I recently tried PocketBreeze from SBSH Mobile Software http://www.sbsh.net/products/pocketbreeze/ , and, unlike some of the other calendar today plugins, it definitely is a breeze to set up and a handy application. The developers of PocketBreeze have also developed other great today screen plugins, including PocketWeather (a weather plugin for the today screen) and iLauncher (a program launcher plugin for the today screen).

PocketBreeze is an application that provides users with a summary for up to 30 days of appointments and tasks on the today screen. With PocketBreeze, you have the ability to customize the layouts, fonts, colors and icons. PocketBreeze can also be integrated with Agenda Fusion, Pocket Informant, or the default PIM. So it will enhance other applications that many users currently have on their PDAs by placing a summary at your fingertips on the today screen.

Besides selling the application, SBSH maintains a forum where the PocketBreeze community can share new skin ideas and discuss any issues. I'm also using PocketBreeze and this is the first software I install on my Pocket PC when ever I rebuild my Pocket PC. :D

SBSH Support is rare among Pocket PC software companies; While most of them won't answer your emails, SBSH usually reply in less then an hour!

They also enjoy Juni's support creating new skins every week or two 8)

No disagreement from me. I recently discovered PocketBreeze and have forsaken all other Today screen enhancements save Pocket Plus. Honest, those two are all that is on my Today screen.

I just downloaded the trial and I can't change the general font color. When I went to change it the first time it was labeled Default. I click Set... and the "default" settings are 255/255/255, but the default text color is black??? Also the scrolling is pretty damn slow. Wisbar Advance is the only other active program. Is changing font color disabled in the trial?

I've never bothered with most of the zillion customization options, so I can't answer directly. I would head to SBSHs forums and do a search first and then ask. You won't believe how fast you get an answer, and generally from Amit, not just another user.

I was directed to this post from our forums so I will try to help, although I'm much more active on our forums. :D

In order to change the font color on the Calendar tab you will need to change the font defines according to item states (busy/free/tentative etc.), you can read more how to change the color along with other font style options like bold/italic etc. on the following post:

The general font color you tried to change is effecting all other "General" text strings like system messages "No more appointments" and so on.

I'm pretty sure taking a look at the user manual might help you enjoy many new stuff, but I know most people don't read it :( anyway, it can be downloaded from the following URL :)

Regarding the slow scrolling, can you tell me what device are you using? it should pretty fast.

IT's not just the forums.

I've submitted a simple support request and gotten an email from Amit the next day apologizing because it was "a late reply"

I've gotten responses to support requests after a week with no such apology even. (EDIT: These requests aren't from this company though..)

The standards of this product and its support are quite impressive.

What I really love about PocketBreeze are the constant feature updates (usually about every 2 days or so). These are not just small bug fixes but actual new features (many of them suggested by PB forum members). I also have to agree that the support is above and beyond ANY software developer I've purchased software from hands down.

I've also got Agenda Fusion, but I found PocketBreeze to be much better for my use. AF for me was like swatting flies with a baseball bat...
I agree with the the other positive posts - fast, personal HELPFUL tech support, inexpensive, creative, useful software, frequent additions... You can't go wrong with SBSH. Witness Amit's support right here in this thread - how many times has tech support tracked you down on another board to help you out???

I use pocketbreeze and I consider this the most useful program in making PPC accesable and useable.

I'm a real today screen plug-in junkie, but I have to say that PocketBreeze is easily the best PIM plug-in that I've tried. Great user interface, highly customisable, loaded with features... Absolutely top stuff!

The other two plug-ins I have on my today screen (also highly recommended) are Stocks and Weather Today (the animated icons for the weather are groovy!) and SPB Pocket Plus (need I say more!).

PocketBreeze looks pretty, but the layout seems to really be spread out. I hear that it is highly customizable. Is it possible to configure it to be a compact display? (Something like tAgenda +TaskPlus).

I am not familur with those products but I will say PocketVreeze is like you say highly customizable. You really should try the free demo if nothing more than to just see how customizable it is. Support is awesome on the forum. :) No reasonable request for customization from other users has been refused. Amit keeps a list of request and as time permits adds them in realeses as time permits. A new version of PocketBreeze is released on average 3 - 2 times a week. :D

Okay, I tried the trial version. I guess that I'm the only one who doesn't "get it". It's nice, but it is way overkill.

I try to set my Today screen to be a quick and easy way to see what's coming up at a glance.

There doesn't appear to be a way to have PocketBreeze display a compact list like that.

I actually like PocketBreeze... I think it is a very well contructed product, with tremendous custumer support and updates. I was... using it in conjuction with TodayPlus... I still wanted my weather up top... something like what sracer has showing... but with the release of the latest TodayPlus skin by Wichtel... (Hammerskin)... I have gone to that as my Today Screen....

Great job with PocketBreeze... and great continued support with the add-ins... (ContactBreeze)

The only thing is you need to delete the original Hammerskin Folders and rename the english ones to their equivlents... If you are fimilar with TodayPlus it should be a walk in the park for you to set up....
