driver update permanent?

I finally got around to updating my Ipaq 5550 with all the relevant updates from hp.com's support and drivers section. I know that the rom update is permanent but what about the wlan driver updates that I installed? If I have to hard reset in the future will I lose the wlan drivers that I have installed and have to re-install them?

Typically, yes. Often a way to determine if the update/driver is going to be lost is if it appears in the remove programs list. While it is possible for pieces of the ROM to be re-flashed without re-flashing the whole thing, the OEMs don't seem to want to use that option much.

Yep those wlan updates are in the Add Remove Programs list like you said so I'm going to try and not have to hard reset again because sorting and figuring out those updates was a pain.
