What we don't often see is a useful collection of integrated utilities. SK Tools has just updated that kind product in its (aptly-named) <a href="http://www.handango.com/brainstore/PlatformProductDetail.jsp?siteId=311&productId=124064">SK Tools</a>.<br /><br /><img src="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/images/adrian/sktools.gif" /><br /><br />It's really difficult to describe all that SK Tools can do, but here's a brief listing:<br /><br />• Cleaning: deletion of unneeded temporary files, shortcuts, etc.<br />• Backup/restore: backup of registry, databases and more<br />• Storage card maintenance: scanning, formatting, listing of cards<br />• Database maintenance: reviewing, deleting, exporting of databases<br />• Process list: shows all running processes<br />• Today plug-ins list: management of Today plug-ins<br />• Input methods list: management of input methods<br />• Windows startup: display and control of apps that automatically load<br />• Built-in uninstaller: aid for application removal<br />• Automation mode: control when SK Tools runs<br />• Other: multi-language support, soft and hard reset, etc.<br /><br />There are a couple of other things that make this collection unique. First, it's relatively inexpensive; you can download a free demo version or buy the full version of SK Tools for $9.00 from the <a href="http://www.handango.com/brainstore/PlatformProductDetail.jsp?siteId=311&productId=124064">Handango site</a>. Second, you can learn all about what SK Tools is up to from its entirely Pocket PC-friendly <a href="http://www.s-k-tools.com/">Web site</a>. No side-to-side scrolling! Yeah!<br /><br />A lot of people prefer to use their own group of individual utilities, but this may be the all-in-one collection you've been waiting for.

It΄s not so new, it΄s just upgraded. And it comes from remover. I bought it a few weeks ago, and i really love it. Very good. :)

And it comes from remover...
Not sure what you mean. Is "remover" the name of a company/developer or something else?

Not to drag this thread OT, but my 256MB SD card seems to have become VERY slow recently. Will any of these (or other) utilities restore functionality? I've already cut and pasted all files from and back to the card (which I understand is as good as a defrag), but it hasn't helped. TIA!!

The developer is SK (http://s-k.al.ru/wincepdaru.html). He is from Russia. He has many cool PPC programs one of which is called remover. SK Tools is Remover taken to the next lvl. I have used Remover for years and jumped at the chance to have the super upgraded version SK Tools. The original remover is still available for free on his site (http://s-k.al.ru/wincepdaru.html). However it is only the basis for SK Tools. SK Tools, as you mention in your post, does more than you can possibly describe. :D It is well worth the $9. The latest version even has some regestry tweaks under options. So maybe SK will add even more of them later.

Some of his other super usefull programs are cabinstall, which will allow you to install a cab file where ever you want and also has a check box to not delete the cab after install. Also XacRett is a wonderful compression program that supports LZH / ZIP / GZIP / RAR / TAR / BZIP2 / Compress / MS CAB / YNC / ARJ / IMP / BASE64 / UUencode / XXencode. I always have it around just incase I come accross a compression other than ZIP.

There are many other apps on his page. Unfortunatly the site is in Russian, his english site went away when SK Tools came out. But most of is is pretty strait forward with pics and all the acronyms you can pretty much figure out what the programs do. :) Or if not ask me I think I remember what most of them do. ;)

Thanks for the clarification. The only information we could find called everything "SK Tools" (possibly because no English site remains).

I can vouch for the usefulness of CABInstall. It's great for installing CAB files exactly where you want them.

No it didn't. It had exceeded its bandwidth or something for a while, but the English site (http://www.geocities.com/s_k_s_k_s_kru/) is still up and running as I post this. In fact, I downloaded from it a week or two ago.

With luck, he'll move the free content from Geocities to his new Web site.
