You're thinking that Brad's already got a pretty good vocabulary and doesn't need to try to make it gooder. Well, even with people like me there is always room for betterness, and the Power Words Today screen plug-in can help.<br /><br /><img src="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/images/adrian/powerwords.gif" /><br /><br />"Wake up to learn a new word every day and improve your word power one word at a time! Included is a year's worth of words, and a new word is displayed every day, automatically changing with the day of the week."<br /><br />Power Words displays vocabulary words one at a time on your Today screen, but you can also review the collection of all of the words.<br /><br />You can get a free demo and choose from three different year-long vocabulary lists, each for $10.00. As always, you can grab these easily from the <a href="http://www.handango.com/brainstore/PlatformProductDetail.jsp?siteId=311&productId=122026">Handango site</a>. I'm a firm believer in self improvement, so I think I'm gonna take a good look at this software. It's a lot easier than doing situps, that's for sure.

hmm...I could prolly use this, preparing for the SATs and all. :| I do already get the M-W word of the day emails (half the time I just skip over them) and have a word-a-day calendar. And my today screen is pretty crowded anyway. Think I'll just live with what I have.

Perhaps it is my lack of education showing, but of the three packs that are shown, there does not seem to be any indication of what words are in the pack. Are the three packs all just random words, or is here a theme to the words that I am missing?

I'd go for this over sit-ups anyday. Sit-ups make me dizzy.

Sit-ups can increase your vocabulary? I didn't know that.

This software could broaden its market to people learning English by adding more information - whether the word is a noun, verb etc, how it is pronounced, its plural or verb forms.

Now if someone will just develop a version for German, I'll buy it. So far the only German word a day I've found is rather basic and lacking in the grammatical information that a non-native speaker needs.
