Will the 2200 charge in its cradle without the AC Adapter; and if so, what changes need to be made on the device to enable this?

Someone stole my power supply at the office, and I have a device that needs charging...

Don't think so. The pins are not set to charge via the USB port. You can either get a combo sync/charge cable, buy/find a new power cord or try to rearrange the pins in the cradle. I have NO idea which pins to mess with, though.

Don't you have one of our Lil' Sync Retractable cables? If not, email me.

chris, i am sorry but the only thing you can do is getting yourself a new charger as soon as possible.
i dont think tweaking the sync cable will work

Here's the pinouts if you feel adventurous. But if you blow it up, don't blame me (sad that I'm forced to say that to avoid getting sued, isn't it?)

There are sync/charge cables, that are USB powered, so it CAN be done. I'm just not sure if you need some kind of regulator or other chip.

Yes, Leonard, I do. :) (and thanks to you, I can charge the device at home...) but the power supply was connected to the cradel I have at the office; and someone stole it and a Y cable that came with a sleeve I used to own.

I'm still looking for these at the office. I'm hoping someone just "borrowed" them and forgot to tell me.
