You can get a brand spankin' new 624MHz Dell Axim X30 for $368.90. That price includes an extra battery, USB cradle, 3 year warranty and free shipping. 8O The catch? The coupon code S91WLGSTLD37FJ expires at 7AM on 6/29. This is a strong unit, so if you're in the market (or have some cash to burn), you should probably consider this promotion rather seriously.

EDIT: I just noticed that the "Preliminary Ship Date" is currently 7/28/04, so you'll have to wait awhile to actually receive the unit.

Wonderful, I paid that much for my Axim X3i back in December :( It didnt even have a spare battery!

It's not that strong, MHz isn't everything. The speed increase is negligable over the A620 or the A716, and the one big reason you'd WANT 600mhz, gaming, there's button lag in many games.

How long have you had your X30, Sponge? Just curious what causes the button lag...

Jason, I think you said this is your primary PPC now. How do you like it? Would you recommend it?

Um - I think this same unit is currently $349 on Dell's site with free shipping.

True, but for the extra $20 you'd spend on this package, you get the extended battery and a 3 year warranty instead of a 1 year warranty. Those options added to the $349 unit would bring the price up to $527.

does this one use any of the new ati/intel/nvidia graphic chipsets? if not, I wouldnt bother. They should be right around the corner and you will see a video performance increase comparativly to night and day.

I dont think they are right around the corner. None of the new models that are coming out in the next month or two that have been announced/revealed have said anything about those "chipsets".

That is a very good price with an extra battery and a 3 year warrenty. I've had such great like with the 2 iPaq's that I've owned. Some would say that I paid too much, but I've had very good luck with Compaq's/HP's service and support, that I think that I will stick with my iPaq.

I'll give you a reason... More RAM. That's what stopped me. Good unit though and the price ROCKS!

Wow.....
Nice price......
I haven't been using a PPC for a few years now and have been looking for a reason to come back and this could just do it...

Though something deep inside is telling me to wait just a little longer and see what some of the next models of PPCs come out with may have in feature set.

If you wait a little longer for the latest and greatest, you'll never buy. Plus 128mb and VGA is gonna cost a little more than this does.

> 600 Mhz?

Holy overheating processor, I am still running Windows 2000 on a 400 Mhz laptop with 128 MB ram.

OT: I run it on a 200MHZ desktop with few issues. But I have 256MB RAM to counter that.

I have to agree with Rick. I really would not buy a unit with less than 128 MB RAM. Anyone hear any news on one of these units with greater than 64 MB?

This really does seem a very tempting deal - in fact even at its normal price I have been thinking about the X30 as a possible replacement for my tired ol' Jornada. At the moment I can get one of these for €410 for the 612Mhz version. Okay so I do not like the external wifi antenna and I really really really want vga, but I cannot see the Asus, Toshiba or HP devices with vga and dual wireless being available for less than double that price here in Ireland.

Of course on the other hand maybe I will just hang on to the Jornada "just a little bit longer...." :D

I am sucker for hot deals. Plus I need something to hold me over until the H4700.

Don't have it, just been following the hordes of complaints over at PocketMatrix. It's safe to say there's SOMETHING wrong with it.

All I can say is good luck. I got one of these on 6/8 and it was defective. I ordered an advance exchange on 6/10. Long story short - Dell was unable to deliver a replacement unit by last Friday, so I just canceled my order. The UPS man just picked up the defective unit. I got a HP 4155 - and so far, so good ;)
