I always loved the Annenberg/CPB show called "The Western Tradition". It was a fascinating educational series about the entire history of Western Civilization narrated by Eugen Weber, Professor Emeritus of History at UCLA.
I was then happy to discover that Annenberg/CPB had made the entire series (52 episodes) available online in streaming video format.

However, what I really wanted was to be able to watch the show via WiFI-streamed video on my Pocket PC (Asus A716). Unfortunately, the links in the native page wouldnt make the proper call to Windows Media Player 9 for Pocket PC.

So I have created an alternate page especially for PocketPC users to easily access all 52 episodes. It's at:

(You will need a broadband connection for the movies to play.)

Although the show only covers Western Civilization, it is a highly informative and insightful journey through the ages, and Weber's wry and often entertaining narrative reveals many historical patterns and lessons everyone can learn from.

"Those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it."
