I got a Toshiba e805 with Bluetooth CF adapter and I wanna use a Bluetooth headset. Is this possible??? If so, which one?

(In case you were wondering, I wanna use Skype (and other proggies like it) and the headset to turn my PPC into mobile phone.)

TIA

Before you look at BT headphones, you need to check your BT CF adapter's documentation and see if it supports the Headset or Handsfree profiles.

I don't think so, since the audio probably isn't routed through the CF slot in the first place. :(

I've tried using my BT headset with my iPAQ 4150 which has integrated BT and it does not work. Apparently, the integrated BT doesn't support the Headset or Handsfree profiles either.

Actually it's possible thru a hack in the registry I think, that enables the [hidden] headset profile. But I hear the quality is not perfect.

Sorry, forgot where I read that (most likely thru this site/forum)

I have my jabra headset bondd to my ipaq 5555. It works but not very well. I tried using it for voip and while the microphone portion was good, the audio to the headset had alot of latency.

That hack is basically turning on the profile that already exists, but is disabled in the registry. It is possible on a 2215 (I can confirm that) and apparently on the 5500 series. The entries aren't there in the registry for the 4100/4300 series it seems. (not on my 4155 anyway).

I googled for 'ipaq headset registry hack' and the first hit pointed to a forum thread that contained

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Widcomm\BtConfig\Services\0005\Enabled Change the value from 0 to 1.

I paired my HBH-65 BT headset with my Axim X30 to listen to MP3s. It can also be used with the voice recorder.

Now I have a different problem with BT which I posted here: http://pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=29192

If anybody can help me out, I'd really appreciate it.
