<div class='os_post_top_link'><a href='http://www.mtekk.com.au/browse/page868.html' target='_blank'>http://www.mtekk.com.au/browse/page868.html</a><br /><br /></div>"PZP is a Today screen plug-in for Pocket PC Phone Edition 2003 which permits the user to define and switch between various audio and functional configurations, much like the profiles on many typical mobile phones. The plug-in displays five icons which represent the five modes (or profiles) that can be configured, unlike the earlier versions they can now take up almost as much or little space as the user wishes since the icons may be skinned (simple bitmaps, plenty are available) – I have mine as a simple row of text bitmaps for the modes (Silent, Vibrate, Quiet, Normal &amp; Loud). To switch mode simply tap the mode of choice and the underlying settings are applied."<br /><br /> <img src="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/images/web/2003/logsdon_20040528_phonezen.jpg" /> <br /><br />I don't have a phone edition (yet), but this looks like an very useful application. The ability to schedule profile changes seems especially handy, particularly for repeating meetings, transit times, etc. It's fully skinnable, and <a href="http://zendrui.free.fr/">completely free</a>! Is this something you'd find useful? Anyone care to try it out and report back? :D

I have been using this profile manager since early days and I must say I am very impressed on two fronts. First is the quality & scope of the application. Second is the responsiveness of the developer. Way to go Zendrui!!! You can refer to the URL for the 34 page thread on xda-developers to see how much the community has engaged in the development of this application and how Zendrui has been able to cope with the demand. All I can say is, two thumbs up!!!

Whoa, this looks like an incredibly useful program! 8O I'm going to install it as soon as I finish writing this! You just can't beat the FREE part! The ability to change settings with one tap sounds especially useful! I cant wait to try it.

Are you planning on getting a Phone Edition, Pat? I've had the sp230 (http://www.anextek.com/sp230.htm) for a while now, but I just bought an XDA II. I got tired of waiting for the new devices . I am now waiting for my new toy to arrive in the mail.

Which one are you planning on getting?

It worked for me. I don't think it works with Pocket PC 2002. You have to move the file to the device and then run it.

It seems pretty cool, especially the time thing, but I'll have to try it for a few days before I'm sure.

This is something I've been looking for awhile now. I usually have regular times in my schedule where I'd like the PDA to be silent. I was looking for a profile program like this but the ability to schedule profile changes is pretty neat. Looking forward to try this out.

This seems like it could be useful for a normal ppc to silence alarms during a meeting. Has anyone with a non-phone ppc 2003 tried this?

Sorry it is a Windows Mobile 2003 application. IT WILL NOT RUN ON 2002

Just installed on my I-Mate. So far so good. This is similar to what comes pre-installed on smartphones. Great freeware!!! Ryan Joseph, did you just join the review team? Congrats. Also would be interested to see some comparison pics as well as battery life and screen between the XDA II and the SP230( if you still have it)? Welcome to the XDA II. I am very happy with mine. I too could not wait for the new devices. The wait for the MPx is bearable with my I-Mate!

Yes, I'm now a part of the Review Team. Thanks for noticing! I'm pretty excited...hopefully, I'll be able to submit a review fairly soon!

And actually, the device I bought is the i-Mate. I just said XDA II because that's what most people know it by. And I'm happy it's an i-Mate because now I can join Club i-Mate (http://www.clubimate.com).

And I do still have my sp230...for now. What did you want me to do with it?

I thought (no pun intended) it would be cool to see some comparison photos of the 2 devices. Particularly because this is essentially the same device that AT&T is releasing next month. Also, some brief comments on how the screens compare as well as battery life. I guess, just a mini review of these 2 Pocket PC Phone Edition Devices!! :D Why the switch to a I-Mate? What about the SP230 forced you to open your wallet? Thanks!

I guess that'd be cool. I'd be up to posting a few pictures and thoughts.

I decided to pugrade to the i-Mate for several reasons. One, I broke my sp230 and wanted a new device. (I didn't seriously break it, but now a small line of the screen doesn't light up with the backlight).

Second, I really, really wanted a Phone Edition device with a camera. Plus, I was attracted by the i-Mate's high memory and fast processor (which neither the MPx or h6300 have).

So, I think I'll be sticking with the i-Mate for a while.

There's no mail tomorrow (grumble, grumble), so it'll probably arrive on Tuesday. Actually, we're kind of weird like that, aren't we? We are happy to have a day off on holidays, but we complain that there's no mail....
