It happened after I had a little accident (I slept-walked off my dorm room loft) and broke a carpal in my wrist. I couldn't use my left hand to get my iPaq out of my pants pocket, so I put it in my shirt pocket instead. Then, when I bent down to fix a bandage on my knee, the iPaq fell out and had its little LCD face rearranged on the street.

*Sigh* I only bought it last autumn, but fat chance HP will help me (has anyone here had luck with them repairing freak accidents?) Luckily, the screen was the only thing that broke--it still records great and plays music! (Two of the biggest things I use it for).

If they don't fix it, I'll need a replacement. I'm gonna wait until the next wave rolls out completely though.

Tough stuff man, how long will you be in the cast?

Get well soon :grouphug:

Actually, it's already off. Had the blasted thing for four weeks. Now all I gotta do is wear this here "sock" on it. It'll be a while before I go weeding the yard again. :)

You should be able to get a replacement screen for it which you can replace yourself. Do a search, something should turn up... there are a few how-to-do's on the net.

PocketPCTechs (http://www.pocketpctechs.com) will replace a screen for you.

It's not free or anything, but if you're wary of doing it yourself it's an option.

Sorry to hear about your accident. I know how something like that can hurt like a ******* but at least it'll get back to normal in time.

Oh, and sorry to hear about your hand too.

Jon.

Shouldn't it be the other way around?

I just checked. Not exactly a money-saver, that option.

I did the same sort of thing, only it was a fractured pinky, and a palm that got hurt. So all in all, nothing really important happened. Get better :)
