Why dosnt CAB files desappear from storage card after tapping them while they do elsewhere in my pocket pc ?

Why dosnt CAB files desappear from storage card after tapping them while they do elsewhere in my pocket pc ?
I've never heard about that, but maybe it's because there's an assumption that files on storage cards are there to be archived, while files in the more limited main memory are meant for installation only.

The ReadOnly attribute must be set. If you want to have CAB files on a Storage Card available for emergency install then you have to set the ReadOnly attribute or they are deleted when the install finishes.

I don't know if the PPC File Explorer can set this attribute but you can set it with 3rd party tools, or from Windows Explorer when docked.

CabInstl lets you install from CAB files to anywhere on your PPC (not just main memory) and has an option to prevent the deletion of the CAB file even from main memory.

We just ran a piece on it the other day.
