Hello everybody,
I would like to know if there would be a problem if I use a 4 AA battery charger as a temporary power source for my iPAQ 1940 because of the voltage difference. 4 AA batteries (at full capacity) would produce 6V while the power input of the 1940 is 5V.

Would using slightly used batteries (so that they do not produce 6V output) in the charger do the trick?

Thanks.

Not a problem if you use something like this Pocket PC Techs Lil' Sync USB AA Battery Adapter with VRC

I've found this (http://www.semsons.com/batexwitusb.html) to be best. It's meant to be used with rechargables. NiCd or NiMH.

The good thing about it is it's compact and you can recharge the batteries inside via the usb connector. Hook it up to your desktop or wherever, and it'll recharge! :D

since electronic devices have internal stabilizers 1 voltage of difference wont hurt your device.

Thanks for all your suggestions.
I did not know that these devices had internal stabilizers. I guess there is no need to worry after all. :)

Just to add... this (http://www.ipaqhq.com/forums/showthread.php?t=280) webpage (3rd post from the bottom) shows the dramatic difference in battery life with the battery pack I mentioned above. 8)

my 2215 operates at 4.2 V when 100% charged and drop down to 3.6

Good point, I'd forgotten about that.

I received my Pocket Solution charger yesterday and charged my device. Seems pretty okay.
