I wish that cell phones had features like this. You could schedule your phone not to ring at certain times durring each day, for instance while you are in class or in a meeting. Of course I don't use a cell phone, so maybe this already exists. Regardless, this could be pretty useful with ppc's too!

Great application. I have been using it now for several years. It can automatically mute based on categories assigned to appointments. I have a category named "mute" that I apply to all appts that I want to mute. The biggest life saver for me is that I can specify a specific time interval for manual muting avoiding the scenario of the PDA being muted during an important alarm.

Seems to me Microsoft is doing all it can to make this program obsolete.

I usually have to worry about the opposite of muting.

Well, I think that's part of what this app does - turns the sound back on automatically after the scheduled "quiet time".

You are right, cell phones already have this feature. At least my Nokia 6310i does, and im sure others have it too (under profiles).

Not quite. The beauty of this, is that you set the mute to last one hour before a entering a meeting. Then after the meeting, you don't need to manually change the profile back, like you do on a phone. It's subtle, but this does look like a nice add-on to have.

I think cmlpreston is suggesting that alarms are so unreliable for him/her that he/she doesn't need this app in the first place. :(

Sorry - but WillyG is right. With the Nokia 6310 and most of the more recent Nokia models (I confirmed this on the 6820 for example) you can set "timed" profiles. When you change to another profile, you can choose to switch back to the previous profile at a predefined time. I use this regularly on my 6310 before going in to meetings.

It annoyed me that my iPAQ didn't have the same feature. I was even going to write an app to do this on my iPAQ so am glad to discover that someone has already done so.

This application rocks! I've used it since buying a PPC last june, and it really works well with my PPCPE - prevents the phone from ringing when I don't want to be disturbed (i.e. classes). The best thing is that it is completely hands-off (i.e. profiles seem tedious to me now, as I actually have to think to turn them on or off). I use my outlook calendar religiously, so it works really well for me.

I've been testing 1.4 for some time and have to say - this app is one of those little gems of ppc goodness you rarely find, and when you do, you wonder how you lived without them.
