View Full Version : Adding Infrared to desktop PC

Just got a Nokia 3200 camera phone and want to sync with my PC. The sync cable is $49. Any recommendations for some way of adding IR to a PC (maybe a USB dongle). I would rather go this route (if possible) so that the solution would be compatible with other phones rather than investing in a solution that only works for my current one.

Thanks

Cheap USB version:

There's also one by Extended Systems that is on a cable and can be positioned in different ways.

I know most motherboards have an IrDA port. Is there some internal version that can hook up to that? It'd be nice if they made an internal memory reader, USB & firewire ports, and an IrDA port. I think the Audigy 2 Platinum has something like that, but I'm not sure if it has an IrDA port. Anyone know if other things like that exist?
