Buy a new memory card? Download games? The first thing I do is buy a nice, protective case! But there are so many different types out there, it's easy to be at a loss in choosing the best one.

Andrew Goldstein over at www.pdabuyersguide.com has written an excellent review of seven different cases for the Dell Axim 3 and 3i.

He writes about the:

• Rhinoskin Aluminum Hard Case
• Krusell Black Leather Case
• Bellagio Designs Black Leather Case
• DSI Aluminum Case (PDA Armor)
• Piel Frama Black Leather Case
• Sena Red and Black Leather Case
• PDair Leather Book Type Case

Of course, Andrew focuses directly on cases for the Axim 3 and 3i, but most of what he has to say applies equally to cases for other models. Give the whole article a read and the challenge of choosing the right case will be much easier.

I'm not sure what kinds of features you look for in a Pocket PC case, but I've always been partial to the ones from Sena and E&B Cases (especially the colored leather ones from Sena).

What specific features do YOU look for in a case?

Be careful with Sena. I bought a case for my X5 less than a year ago. Recently all the stitching around the round belt clip has ripped totally away making the clip useless. So far I haven't found any option for repairing or returning it on the web site.

Be careful with Sena...

Really? I hadn't heard of anything like that. What happened after you sent them an e-mail? Nothing?

They've also got a review of the new X30 line from Dell, featuring the Bulverde processors...pretty impressive stuff.
