Pocket PC Users,
Pocket Watch Software has now released ActivePrint 3.03. This new version includes some of the following features:
-> Pick and choose which printers ActivePrint will recognize
-> Increased printing performance
-> Increased document type scanning

Current users of ActivePrint 3.0 can download the upgrade at the following link:

ActivePrint is the first technology to give your Pocket PC the ability to print a wide range of document types (as many as 50 on most systems) to a wide range of standard printers without the requirement of expensive wireless hardware.

With ActivePrint, you can create and edit documents while away from your computer and have them automatically print to the printer that you choose. Plus, with the new ActivePrint 3.0 you can set particular printer such as paper orientation and color settings for each individual document.

This program does not require the use of various wireless technologies that cost as much as $500 over what your PDA already costs. Instead, it only requires the equipment and software that ships with Pocket PCs and a desktop
computer to connect it to. It also will work with a variety of document types.

Some of the document types that work on most systems include:
-> doc - Microsoft Word (and Pocket PC equivalent)
-> xls - Microsoft Excel (and Pocket PC equivalent)
-> ppt - Microsoft Power Point
-> pdf - Adobe Acrobat
-> wks - Microsoft Works
-> txt
-> html
-> rtf

True, but it is far more limited in number of compatible document types and printers. For example, you can print to printers that do not have any wireless technology or intranet connection.

Also, ActivePrint is able to print many of the common document types such as Pocket Word or Pocket Excel. However, it can also print lesser known document types. On average, ActivePrint is compatible with 60 document types on each system it is installed on.

Great question.
