For the last two revisions to Socket's drivers my WLAN will freeze up my PPC sometimes. Of course I can always unfreeze it by pulling out the CF card but this is really getting annoying.

Is anyone else seeing this issue with this card?

Is this the first generation Socket card with an iPAQ 2215? My officemate had a 2215 with it and eventually gave up on the card, as he couldn't make heads or tails of the situation. :|

Yes, this is the first gen of the card. http://www.socketcom.com/images/wlan/WL6000-320_200x200.gif

If this is the first gen card, why not use the Symbol drivers instead? Give them a shot! (http://www.symbol.com/services/downloads/documentation_drivers.html) They don't give me any problems...

Yeah, I was going to suggest that -- and totally forgot. Good point, Steve!

I tried these in Q3 of last year and couldn't get a successful connection to my WEP AP. I'm able to with the Socket drivers. I installed the latest 2/04 drivers and still couldn't get it to connect over 40bit WEP.

Just tried the Symbol drivers again since I'm updating the ROM. Still refuses to connect with 40bit WEP. I edit the profile to include my key, go back to the connection mgr, select my profile and click Connect. Nothing happens.

When I click the Mobile Companion icon at the top it just says Associating.. and never does anything else.

Wierd! I'm using 128bit on mine and it works fine. Let me ask you this: what kind of WAP do you have? Try this: disable WEP and connect, does it work? Are you sure you are inputting the key correctly? Just some things to try (not sure if you already did these)
