You, Your iPAQ and NURBS

Well, no harm, no foul - that's what I thought at first, too. First of all, let me allay your fears. NURBS isn't dangerous, and you don't need a cream to make it go away. It's an acronym for Non-Uniform Rational B-Splines. I sense blank stares from the non-CAD designers out there, so I'll let Geekzone explain.<br /><br />"NURBS...are mathematical representations of 3-D geometry that can accurately describe any shape from a simple 2-D line, circle, arc, or curve to the most complex 3-D organic free-form surface or solid. I'm confused. On the Rhino site (http://www.rhino3d.com/products.htm) it says the following beside the H1900 series picture:

"HP iPAQ case
Version 3 includes phone and camera
Coming in June 2003"

Can anyone explain?

Ah yes, I remember when Rhino was freeware. 'Course I havn't used it since those days. They don't want to share the iPAQ models I guess? :)

Personally, I prefer a combination of Meta NURBS and Geometric Boolean modelling. Never was much for spline based patch modelling.

Make sure you check out the Rhino site - there are quite a few pictures, including iPAQ shells and a really neat cradle (http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/images/web/2003/logsdon_20040512_ipaqcradle.jpg) that I'd like to have.

I've got that cradle. Ask Zippper where it came from, all I know is that i like it.

And the actual cradle is black instead of white, and the orange thing for the second battery glows red when the battery is charging, green when the spare battery is fully charged.

There are a couple of plug-ins called Power-Solids and Power-Booleans that extend Rhino's capabilities by adding just those functions - Boolean and Solids modeling.
