Well, no harm, no foul - that's what I thought at first, too. First of all, let me allay your fears. NURBS isn't dangerous, and you don't need a cream to make it go away. It's an acronym for Non-Uniform Rational B-Splines. I sense blank stares from the non-CAD designers out there, so I'll let Geekzone explain.<br /><br />"NURBS...are mathematical representations of 3-D geometry that can accurately describe any shape from a simple 2-D line, circle, arc, or curve to the most complex 3-D organic free-form surface or solid. Because of their flexibility and accuracy, NURBS models can be used in any process from illustration and animation to manufacturing. <br /><br />What do the iPAQ h1900 series, the <a href="http://www.junipersys.com/products/products.cfm?id=9">Allegro Field PC,</a> the <a href="http://www.ideinc.com/creative.html">Creative Labs Nomad Jukebox,</a> <a href="http://www.rhino3d.com/spider-man/index.htm">Spider Man the movie</a> and the <a href="http://www.nokia.com/nokia/0,1522,,00.html?orig=/phones/5510/">Nokia 5510</a> mobile phone have in common? The design tool. All these articles, and many more were created with the help of a design software, Rhino. This software can create, edit, analyze, and translate NURBS curves, surfaces, and solids in Windows. There are no limits on complexity, degree, or size. Rhino also supports polygon meshes."<br /><br />Make sure you check out the Rhino site - there are quite a few pictures, including iPAQ shells and a <a href="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/images/web/2003/logsdon_20040512_ipaqcradle.jpg">really neat cradle</a> that I'd like to have. It also made me want a <a href="http://www.icecreamusa.com/products/images/line/P_MP_CRM.jpg">Creamsicle,</a> but maybe that's just me.

I'm confused. On the Rhino site (http://www.rhino3d.com/products.htm) it says the following beside the H1900 series picture:

"HP iPAQ case
Version 3 includes phone and camera
Coming in June 2003"

Can anyone explain?

Edit: Can someone fix the link? I thought this was how you did it...

Ah yes, I remember when Rhino was freeware. 'Course I havn't used it since those days. They don't want to share the iPAQ models I guess? :)

Personally, I prefer a combination of Meta NURBS and Geometric Boolean modelling. Never was much for spline based patch modelling.

How do you think I created this guy: http://www.pocketnow.com/index.php?a=portal_detail&t=reviews&id=291

...really neat cradle (http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/images/web/2003/logsdon_20040512_ipaqcradle.jpg) that I'd like to have....

Well, you can always buy that $100K 3D laser printer and make your own ;)

I've got that cradle. Ask Zippper where it came from, all I know is that i like it.

And the actual cradle is black instead of white, and the orange thing for the second battery glows red when the battery is charging, green when the spare battery is fully charged.

There are a couple of plug-ins called Power-Solids and Power-Booleans that extend Rhino's capabilities by adding just those functions - Boolean and Solids modeling.

I know that I can get the black cradle (http://www.shopping.hp.com/cgi-bin/hpdirect/shopping/scripts/home/store_access.jsp?product_code=FA112A%23AC3&amp;template_type=product_detail&amp;script_name=product.cgi) - but I WANT that white one.
