One of my biggest uses for my Jornada has always been as a mobile text editor. I often work on documents when away from my desk (like in the library doing research). However, I have never really used activesynce to synce documents to my device prefering to copy them over individually.

Why? You ask. Well mainly it is because of the way that Activesync will only synce to the My Documents folder in main memory and I prefer to keep my documents on the Memory Card. Not only am I always worried about loosing the documents in case of an unintended hard reset (which has happened to me in the past) but I also like being able to slap my CF card in a card reader when needed and access the documents that way.

That said it would be great if I could just HAVE the latest version of a document on my device and on my PC always in synce. Some how I always seem to end up with two or three or even more copies of the same document...

So who actually uses Activesync for this and if you don't then what do you use?

Have a look at Mobsync I discovered on a japanese site some time ago.

Originally, it was japanese only, but the author translated it to english (since v0.8.5)

Very useful looking software - I have downloaded it and my Jornada is busily syncing away as I type!

Thanks for the Heads up!
