Yes, I still use and love Avantgo. However, my new Pocket PC has bluetooth and WiFi, so I'm increasingly becoming more addictive to RSS feeds. It's convenient as you can read the headlines, and later connect to the net to read the full story whenever you want.

yeah i loved RSS feeds on my palm via a program called "Hand RSS". is there something similar on PPC? what do you use to pick up the feeds? tell me there's something good!

There was a blurb posted about "Pocket RSS" on this site a couple weeks ago. Have a look: http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=27086&highlight=rss

Personally, I like Egress better. It is really nice and simple to use.. :) I'm currently using a trial of it, but I think I'll be buying it pretty soon.

An alternative is to make your own files using the iSiloX program to make the data files and read them with the iSilo browser ( http://www.isilo.com/ ). iSiloX is free but you have to pay for the iSilo browser if you want to use hypertext (the free version can only deal with flat files like most ebooks). You can find tons of URL's for iSiloX at http://www.mobileread.com/ .

I find iSilo well worth the money: I make most of my ebooks in this format (though also quite many in MS Reader format as it looks damn good) as it is my preferred e-book reader and it has the best compression on the market. Try making your own AvantGo-like news in iSiloformat and read them in the the 30-days trial version of iSilo.

I haven't tried it yet, but I see that the latest version of Mobipocket handles RSS feeds.

Anyone here try it?
Does it work well?

To tell the truth I have hardly used Avantgo for the last year or so. Everynow and then I sync it to my Jornada but then forget about it for another month or so. Most of the info I used for (news stories and quick bits of PDA news) I now access through h OmegaOne's Journal Bar (http://www.omegaone.com/PocketPC/JournalBar.html).

That said, and by coincidence, I just did a hard reset on my Jornada (Don't ask :D) and when I set up my partnership again I decided to give Avantgo another run. I wonder how long it will stay active for this time...
