Wouldn't it be nice if the new HP unit had this form factor.

At the danger of going off topic.... but I like the way the thumbnail pics enlarge on that website.

it looks good but I would have prefered the keyboard to slide out from the side so you could use the device in landscape mode.

I think HPs 6000 series has got some real competition what with this, the MPx and the new phone edition from Lenovo

Very good point!
So what are we going to use during landscape?? Since most of the time when you need to use the Qwerty is when you have lots of text to input... therefore landscape mode is much more useful

But this design limit its landscape usage :?

I like. Especially since you still have a decent size screen to work with.

I have a qouple of concerns about this device that I haven't seen discussed anywhere yet.

One - I wish it was more than 64MB RAM.

Two - none of the specs I've seen for it mention ANY storage card. If that's true, it would absolutely be a dealbreaker. Has anyone seen info contrary to this and can you point me to it?

Three - I wish they had gone for VGA display, but it probably would start to amke the costs prohibitive.

Four - I wish they would support WiFi.

Sprint has a stated direction of supporting VoIP on their newer devices. Their new push-to=talk service leverages VoIP in the infrastructure. They have stated that they want to support VoIP on your corporate wireless LAN and swith to traditional cell when you leave your LAN. This means WiFi (most likely). I'd be surprised if Sprint would want to add this device to their lineup without it since that seems to be their direction.

I agree about VOIP and Sprint but I don't think this was made from the ground up for Sprint. I will not be stunned to see something later with that ability.
