wma is audio, but assuming you mean video, use super dvd ripper. (encodes to avi divx)

Friends,

I've taken a few divix avi movies and encoded them to a wmv format and had no problems watching the movie. There are at times it is a little choppy, but for ppc - what can ya expect?

Anyways, I've read articles about movies on the ppc. Which format should I take my dvds and watch them on the ppc? I only have a 512mb sd card. I like to keep the file size around 150mb or lower. Should I encode in mpg/wmv. can or does the ppc play movies in divix avi format?

Please advise.

Thank You,

Tvos

You can play DiVX files with Pocket DiVX Player (http://www.snapfiles.com/get/pocketpc/pocketdivx.html)

There are numerous apps that you can use to convert divx files for pocket pc usage.
Windows Media Encoder is free from microsoft, and can basicaly convert any file playable by Windows Media Player (meaning, have the codecs for the file installed, like divx) to a wmv format. the www.bigdsvideo.com website has some explenation on that as well.
WMV files can be played by the usualy build in Media Player on your ppc.

To convert to DIVX, VirtuaDub is basicaly the handiest program, and again, look on the website for it how to use it.
