I bought the program at full cost and would do so again... Great program.

What a wonderful deal for anyone to take advantage of from the writer.

I am in the process of purchasing now.

Two reasons:
- I am starting to implement the FranklinCovey methodology and this might come in handy since their PDA programs are so horrible.
- To reward the developer for putting out a great piece of software at a reasonable price. With all the overpriced PPC software out there these days, it is nice to see some well-priced apps. I hate the thought of paying more for a PPC program than its PC counterpart.

Some more software that is too cheap not to buy. Its quite a large ibstall though at 5 Mb, and it refused to work when I tried to install it on a storage card.

Now to see if I have any use for it...

Surur,

The MS SQL components won't work on a storage card, if you installed everything to a storage card then that might be why it is causing problems.

(1) I concur on the FranklinCovey software.
(2) You might want to check out my Time Management for PDAs site - http://www.dkeener.com/keenstuff/index.html - to pick up a few tips I've learned in using PDAs for the past several years and in my 28 years of business experience. It's a public service site I run - I spend money on it but make none. If you do check it out, please provide me with feedback on how I can further improve it, especially for Pocket PC users. There's a feedback mechanism available at the site.
(3) Good luck!

I bought it when it was full price and I :ppclove: it. My only complaint is it requires the MS SQL stuff, which bloats up the install considerably. If it didn't need the SQL stuff in order to run, it would be my number two app (after Pocket Informant).

I enjoy seeing companies rewarding the ppc community.
For only 1 buck I couldn't pass it up as well;)
So now I have added it to my list of software, but I have no idea when I will actually use.
I to am a Franklin Covey user, have been for around 6 years or maybe 7-I lost count
I do not like the pda software that FC offers, I find it very boring. I have wondered why they have not updated it into the modern age. go figure.
What!? 8O Jason had a misspelled word? 8O I don't believe it! 8O

I just purchased it, well it's cheap. But I never thought it need more than 3.5MB RAM to run it, tough decision, Finally I choose unininstall it.

At least the author should mention it will only work in RAM and a large block of RAM is needed.

A.I. itself can be installed on a storage card. Depending on what OS you use, the install to main ram for the SQL components can be up to 2MB. If you use a 2002 device it can be higher to account for Microsoft's compact framework - which isn't needed for WM 2003 devices.

Our WM 2003 installer is here (http://www.handango.com/PlatformProductDetail.jsp?siteId=1&jid=AD2B141A2DX86C4B4C998B5EXDF9FBBC&productId=80177)

hope this helps save some room.

What was the regular price? You can't lose for $1!

I really want to get my life organized with goals. I have read many Covey-type books and even use his planner pages, but I guess I'm not motivated enough to write out my goals. Besides, my number 1 goal right now is to find a better paying job AND keep it for more than 6 months. Beyond that, who knows.

Steve,

could you write to our support at support(at)pocketpcaddict.com? That is a symptom that is usually easily resolved. however, I don't know if this is the right place to do it.

Question about the registration. Looks like the registration key is based on the device ID. When I upgrade my PDA in the future, can I get a new key?

The only problem I have with this app are these:

1. Too many pop-ups telling you when you can't do something.

2. Having to tap on submit in some fields such that if you enter data then hit next then it loses the information.

The message boxes are annoying though. I'd prefer it just not do anything.

Jacob,

I agree with you. However, the customers won on that one. Originally there wasn't as much "feedback" from the program, but the people spoke and I listened. :)

Jacob

Darn you for listening :D heh.

I understand. UI Design is a slippery thing sometimes.

I guess I just don't find it intuitive for example under Refine goals you choose a goal to refine and then you have to tap on Reword before you go on to actually refine it.

My thought would be that you should be able to just select the goal and tap on the Expand vision or Pitfalls tab and go from there.

I guess you can just consider it to be more customer feedback :)

The screen shot has a goal of running a 14K marathon. 14K is a far cry from a marathon (which is 42.2K). Please people, learn this - a marathon is a marathon. The modern day distance is 42.2K = 26.2 miles. So please don't ask "how far was that marathon you ran?"

Now you've all been educated.

*Yes, I know there are certain mountain running races which use the marathon handle when they are slightly less than 26.2 miles, but it's a mountain race!

The 2003 installer is just lacking the Compact Framework - which isn't needed on 2003 devices. So the version that is running on your device is the same.

Jacob,

Thanks for the feedback. Actually you can just go to Refine goals and click whichever tab you want and then highlight the goal. Then you needn't rename it. But I know what you are saying and I've made a note of it for the fix list. It is an easy modification where it wouldn't throw up a messagebox.

My suggestion is your program can be rewriten using C only, which is pretty easy since you already did the software engineering work. No matter how cheap a software is, if it takes more than 2Mb Ram and need more than 5 sec to load, even it's free, people will be hazitate to install it.

I, for one, don't think it worth 2.5Mb RAM.

I concur. Using the .net cf is one thing as all WM2003 devices have it built in, but having to load the SQLCE components is a little too bloated.

I, for one, don't think it worth 2.5Mb RAM.

After the hard-reset I experienced last week, anything with a total cab file size of more than two MB didn't make it back on.

Thank you. This is a great suggestion and I rely on people like you, who use the application, to help me define the next version of the product. I can't commit to it to using C...just yet...I still have some research to do but getting these ideas gets me charged up for making the application better, faster and more reliable.

Please, if you other suggestions feel free to post them or email them directly to me.

BTW...the Achieve-it! App itself is 830KB...

I had the same issue. Here is how I resolved it:

1. Uninstalled the appication and the SQL CE components.
2. Ran the Install and installed just SQL CE.
3. Next ran the install again and installed just the SQL CE Client.
4. Finally ran the install a third time and installed just Achieve-IT.

This ordering fixed my problem. Hope this helps.

You'd get all 1.x upgrades free. A 2.x upgrade would be free if purchased within 3 months of 2.x release date.

That was just pointed out to me yesterday. You can simply go to your My Documents folder and delete or rename the QOTD.txt file That should be a workaround until the next version is released.

No you cannot uninstall the Compact framework that is in ROM. If you've installed the CF that is part of the installer and you have a 2003 device you can uninstall it.

My guess is that the special is over.

I can't imagine them selling it for $1 forever.
