Remote Activesync W/O Pocket Host?

I'm probably asking something that's been answered, but on the same token I've searched through the archives and came up empty.

We know that Pocket Host screws up activesync on PPC 2003 machines (like my Ipaq 2210).

How then can I set up my network to allow activesync from a remote network? Pocket Host used to make things so easy.

Enter the IP address of your PC, BUT NOT IT"S NAME use PPP_PEER instead. Make sure the IP address of your PC is entered only once! Exit PocketHost and reset your PocketPC

Actually, I didn't even reset my PPC. just added PPP_Peer and was on.
