I have setup a VPN on my home network and have set port forwarding for port 500 to my server running VPN. I have given access to my logon user on my Xp machine. Now when i try to connect to VPN from my Windows Mobile 2003 machine I see it says "connecting ...(my ipaddress) then I get

"Cannot connect : VPN server problems. Verigy your username and password, and try again. If the problem continues, turn the device off and try again."

I verified username and pass.

Any ideas?

OK turns out port 500 is just for IPSec. For PPTP use ports 1723 and 47.

I can now connect to my VPN but I cannot get ActiveSync to sync?

Anyone?

You just need port 1723, 47 is not a port but a protocol. I'd take a look at this page (http://members.cox.net/ajarvi/WM2003/WM2003PPTPVPN.html) and see if that helps out. I've read that running the pocket hosts program can cause some problems with syncing over vpn. Also make sure you have netbios enabled for that pc.

I uninstalled Pocket Hosts and Have NetBIOS over TCP/IP enabled.

Under vxIPCONFIG my adapter address is :00-00-00-00-00-00
IP Address : 192.168.254.106
Subnet Mask : 255.255.255.0
DHCP Server : 192.168.254.101

Lease obtained : DHCP Disabled
