I'm sure he means : "dual slots, one of which is a compact flash, and the other SD/MMC"

Oh, and what's that bit about dual CompactFlash Type II slots? 8O I hope that's not a typo.
The device does not have two CF slots. Some of the documentation ASUS has at its CeBIT booth says "Compact Flash II, Type II", but that's a typo. It's suppposed to read "Compact Flash, Type II" As tonyv says, it has two slots, CF and SD/MMC.

Now that is nice! I wish more manufactures would just get it that CF still has some life in it. I would love to see a solution with the SD card occupying an internal slot, something similar to a SIM card in cell phones. Possibly locate it under the removeable battery.

The price of SD just isn't moving down fast enough. I just ordered that deal from Amazon. $69.99 512mb CF, plus I'll use the $30 rebate that comes with it

Way to go Asus!

Actually, it still says

as of the time of this post.

I'm quoting the infoSync article. He meant to say dual CF/SD, but it comes out slightly vague. I don't think I should quote him differently, though... right?

Specs are fab, but..

I hope they make this unit durable, and quirk-free, (unlike the A620) or at least release patches like HP does if problems do surface.

Still, I'm waiting for HP to outdo this, or maybe even Toshiba...

Definately nicer looking than the Toshiba - now how about a Phone Edition.... :D

The biggest downside? The built-in camera.

I work for General Motors in research/product development, where cameras are absolutely verboten at work. This rules out, unfortunately, some of the hottest PDAs and phones out there.

Fortunately, my e805 is working just fine...

If there's a phone edition version coming out, count me in.

I love my i700 but this is really what it should have been.

Sorry I think I am just dreaming there :(
