Have you been in a store recently? There is no PPC-PE option but guess what, this is about to change. Lets take a look at this situation and see what is going on now, what is planned for Q2 and what their future holds. Guess what kids, my source on this one is rock solid, you can take this article to the bank...The HP iPaq-G, often called the iPaq 6000 is expected to hit the market in June 2004 (this date keeps slipping though). The expected price point for this device is $599.99 but don't look for it to come from AT&T first, T-Mobile has a 3 month exclusive deal with HP so AWS should get this thing in the Aug/Sept timeframe."

A little off topic, maybe; but have you heard anything on the Motorola MPx? I wonder if T-Mo will have an exclusive deal on it as well..?

Kind Regards,

I don't recall. Did the iPAQ 6000 pass the FCC certification?

Having somewhat of an insider view as well, I have a substantial rumour that AT&T blue will quickly change to Cingular orange this year, cutting the redundacies(store fronts). I have a hard time believing that Cingular would allow AT&T to pick up anything new? :?:

Cingular is in the process now of assessing what to keep, what to merge, and what to cut.

To the best of my knowledge, I haven't seen an FCC approval yet. I've been looking for one every day for a while now...but with the h6000 series date slipping, I'm expecting to see the FCC approval sometime in May or June...

That's bad news, especially once you consider the bonus item hidden in that ATTWS article.

It looks like they're planning to offer the Legend Pocket PC Phone (http://www.mobilegadgetnews.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=News&file=article&sid=1019) until the iPAQ H6000 series arrives.
Good for them, and good for consumers who get more choices.

I'm actually looking forward to walking into an ATTWS store to see how small/big this thing really is. It looks quite compact from all its pictures.

The best thing about the 6000 is the price. At $920+ the MPx is just too expensive. Six hundred is much more like it. I can't wait!

And RK, the Legend you linked to is, in fact, the AnexTEK sp230 PPC Phone:
