Hello,

I own a IPAQ 3635.

A few moments ago it fell down.

Thankfully it is still working. However, the Stylus does not lock into the stylus slot in the top right of the PDA.

Usually the stylus used to go all the way in. Now it does not lock it, thus about an inch or so stick out.

Hopefully someone can tell me if there is some way to fix this. I currently live in a country in Asia where the Compaq service network is very poor.

Please help.

Thank You
Regards
RJ

I had a similar problem with my iPAQ 3765. My guess is that your stylus lock and/or spring mechanism are broken. Do you hear any parts rattling around? I was able to "fix" mine by taking my iPAQ apart. This is not for the faint of heart though.

After opening the case, I pulled out the broken lock and spring. The spring mechanism is attached to the back case. Mine clearly was cracked. So, I removed the spring and the broken pieces and put my iPAQ back together. The spring is now gone but the stylus fits in the iPAQ again. To remove it, I have to turn it upside down and push the eject button. Not perfect but a decent hack in my opinion.

Hope this helps.

You can just replace the latch.. This is a known problem so many PocketPC tech sites sell a much better latch.

Hi,

I think I may have a broken latch. I can surely hear a rattling noise.

I will open it up within a day and lets see what the problem is.

BUT THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP, REALLY.

I could not afford to go to a service center

Thanks
