2. Toshiba high capacity battery for e740/750/755 with Toshiba leather slip case for the e740/750/755 for use with the hi-cap battery. This is the battery released after the recall, with a serial number ending in A. It functions perfectly, without the problems of the pre-recall batteries, and is in mint, like new condition. I received it in August 2003 and have used it for only a few days. The leather case is also in excellent condition.

3. Toshiba high capacity battery for e740/750/755. This is the battery that was subject to the recall by Toshiba, modified so that it now works properly, without the problem that led to the recall. I did the modification as per “jmfneaf’s” example in this Brighthand thread:

The modification consisted of removing with an exacto knife the extra plastic which covered the lower part of the contacts and interfered with the sliding pins on the PDA that "mate" to the battery's contacts.
Cosmetically, when the battery is in place on the PDA it looks perfect. However, on the inside surface where the plastic was removed, the cutouts are rough looking, there is a visible scratch, and there is an reverse imprint of “Toshiba” from case, which occurred in the original packaging. But it works perfectly. I purchased it in July 2003 and used it only briefly before the recall, and before the modification, and only a few times after the modification.
