The new P50 is about the same size as the Treo 600, and has a large LCD screen, WiFi, Bluetooth, a 1.3 megapixel camera (with flash), and best of all, a mini-keyboard. Oh yeah, and it's supposed to run on the new and improved version of the Pocket PC Phone operating system that Microsoft isn't announcing until next week."<br /><br /><img src="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/images/web/2003/parekh-20040319-BenQPPCPhone.jpg" /><br /><br />I can't believe it -- at this rate, the MPx, the iPAQ 6xxx, this unit, and who knows what else is scheduled to hit the market within the next year! Now, how to decide? :dilemma:<br /><br /><b>Update:</b> I put up a pic. Thanks for the link, slugnut!

Shame they didn't work on the styling before taking it to a trade show. Even with the POS and crappy screen, the Treo 600 is still my favorite Smartphone.

looks good, but one of the links posted here says 300k camera (640x480) and the other one says 1.3 megapixel...

OK, I give...what's wrong with the styling? I also own a Treo 600, and I'm sitting here comparing the two based off of this photo. The only thing I see that I'd change right away is the directional/game pad on the BenQ.

I'm hooked on the Treo's keyboard on a Smartphone. I just wish many times that I had the PPC OS on it. I own an iPaq 4350, and it's one heckuva PPC...but it's too big to carry everywhere. If this runs the newest PPC OS (with great performance, of course), and was available right now...I'd buy as is.

My my... this looks very nice! Wow, it would be nice to only have to carry 1 device in my pocket instead of 2. Plus, it's a Pocket PC!

Seriously though, this is the kind of product I've been waiting for. A Treo 600 with Bluetooth, WiFi, and WM2003. Too bad I already have a 4155.. :)

Now this is what I've been looking for! Here's one that could possibly sway me back to the PPC from the Smartphone :D :D :D

I thought this was another clunker 'till I read that it has a 2.8" screen! Pocketable it is!

Yes - I think the photos often show devices "out of context", so it's hard to tell how big a device is or isn't.

And it's quadband, too! I'm seriously temped by this. :D

...the memory... I assume we're talking a minimum of 64MB here. I guess 128MB is out of the question since it drains the battery faster.

However... assuming a minimum of 64MB... I want one... NOW!!!

I cannot figure out the dimensions -

Dimension: 120 x 60 x 20 mm

120mm for length?!? - it definitely looks longer in the pics.

I drew it out on a sheet of paper to see, those dimensions are right. I wish more photos would have people holding the device. I couldn't picture it's size until I drew it out. Looks very slick though.

I measured my Treo 600, and it roughly comes up 110 x 58 x 19 mm. 110mm includes the length of the antenna. So Benq will look a bit longer and fatter than Treo 600. I'm fine with the length especially for more screen estate, but 20mm bothers me. I always thought Treo 600 is thick to be comfortably stored in the pocket, and Benq will be a tad thicker than that. :( The brightside is with 150g, it will be lighter than Treo 600 which weights 175g or 168g depending on the version.

edit: I just checked Handspring website, and the official dimensions of Treo 600 are 11.2 x 6.0 x 2.2 cm. I must have been too generous when I was measuring my Treo. :) So, it looks like Benq will be pretty comparable to Treo 600 in terms of size, and it is even slightly thinner and lighter! Now I am really interested!
