Hi
i hope someone could help me on this issue.
Since i downloaded Office 2003, I can sync perfectly with Activesync 3.7.1
All the tasks, appoinments and so forth sync fine except the mails in outlook inbox. It does not sync to my ipaq 2210 at all. It always leaves a message in Activesync to resolve items.

I have tried increasing the number of lines to sync to 1000, to transfer attachments with it and also tried setting the option for attachments size to be 1MB and to transfer it to memory card.

Nothing i've done seemed to help. It always says "Resolve Items.."
When i try clicking the "Windows CE inbox transfer" under tools.....it says something like "Unable to connect to mobile device. This version of windows ce inbox transfer will not work properly with your mobile device"

Pls help.....

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling ActiveSync following the Office installation? You might want to try that rebooting between the uninstall & reinstall.

Thank goodness for this forum! I installed Outlook 2003 on Friday and I've got the same issue. It sync's the Inbox OK the first time, and moves new items to my iPAQ OK. But it doesn't delete mail items that are removed. I was going to try reinstalling AS anyways on Monday, but it was a shot in the dark. Now I'm feeling much more confident.

Thanks!

Unfortunately, the reinstall didn't help. I removed AS, reboot and reinstall. The issue remains where AS doesn't remove deleted items from my PPC when I delete them from Outlook. It adds new items and marks items as read OK, but deletions are a no-go.

I found this Microsoft KB Article (https://premier.microsoft.com/premier/library/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;829060)that touches on it, but there's not much info.

So...anybody here more clever than the MS folk? 8)

Jeff Rutledge kindly advised me that Office 2003 Service Pack 1 resolved the following problem:

Deleted e-mail messages are not removed from a Pocket PC or Smartphone device

When a Pocket PC or Smartphone device is in the USB cradle, and the user synchronizes the device with Outlook 2003 by using ActiveSync, a deleted e-mail message is not removed from the device when Outlook 2003 is running in Cached Exchange Mode.

Thanks Jeff it worked fine... :way to go:

Yes. SP1 offers a lot of enhancement to the Office suite. OneNote SP1, in particular, now offers better integration with the Notes feature of the Pocket PC.
