Mauricio over at Geekzone gave the service a spin, and likes it. He provides some useful tips as well for first-time users, to avoid things like data loss, so if you own an i-mate branded XDA II, check it out!

Yes it is ONLY for Imate branded. I got a message from one of their techs that the push feature of Exchange 2003 will be rolled out very shortly right now the Imate is pulling the info from the server..

Carrier Devices (The OEM distributor of Imates) are offering excellent technical support for the imates, Online real time technical support chat with their technical people, online games, free software, music, ring tones etc. They have been the first out of the gate with fully tested OFFICIAL ROM upgrades.

There is even a posting about a 2 week turn around for warranty work on Pocket PC Passion from someone in the states! The Imate does have a VALID & TESTED worldwide warranty.

Way to go IMATE!

I gotta say that I think the iMate is the best varient of the XDA II. I know I'm biased because I own one, ut the level of support is just amazing! Clubimate has free downloads (stuff that costs money on Handango, not just freeware), fast ROM updates, bluetooth serial port fix, and now we get PUSH email to our devices. FREE! (Plus calendar, tasks, etc. sync as well). I'm very impressed by Carrier Device's level of support for this thing.

That's awesome! Talk about value-added!
All these things may sway my next PDA/Smartphone to be an iMate if they have the right product at the right time.
