Pinging wireless internet connection

When i hook up my phone to my laptop....i use the run command which puts me in dos...i type ping -t www.sprintpcs.com.......this pings my connection and keeps it active.......is there a way to do this for the pocketpc when its hooked up to my phone? thanks for your help
