Mine shows that (8MB Storage + 16 MB Program) are free (out of 64MB Total Main Memory).

How much free memory is recommended to keep things running smoothly?

48.18 MB / 46.97 MB

But....I'm cheating.....just got a new Tosh e805 which comes with 128 MB RAM standard. Also includes 31.22MB of Flash ROM that's usable for storage...good for things you want to keep even after a Hard Reset!

Prior to the Tosh, I had a Dell Axim X5 and my free RAM was similar to what you both showed....

I am 64MB of RAM on my H4350, and about 7-8MB of available memory for 'program'. When using my pocket pc intensively this dips as low as 3 or even 2MB which results in very slow operation and sometimes even freezing. I recently installed many new applications on my pocket pc, but they are all (well almost all) installed on a 128MB SD Card and take up a mere 20MB of so (a furhter 60MB is taken up by WMA/MP3 files). Could this have any effect on the amount of storage RAM available? I have plenty of experience with this problem using PCS (all processors are basically the same) and when a lot of hard disk space it takes up memory, but the same problem shouldn't happen when using external memory. Any ideas, anyone?

Out of 32M total, I have a little less then 15 free. Whenever I'm in the Memory I tell it to evenly split the remaining memory between storage and program though it doesn't always stay that way :) This is fresh after a soft reset too.

I've used 11.82M for storage.
