two questions that should be easy

2. Anyway to turn off the backlight when charging? its so bright that I can't sleep with it on, I had to put a damn towel over it last night lol

1) Nope, not that I'm aware of.

2) Press and hold the power button, the backlight will turn off, but the Pocket PC will still be on. Press and hold to get it back on.

Sure. Although why don't you just press the power button to put it into suspend mode? You can still receive phone calls when it's "off".
