connecting to aol dialup via t-mobile ppc

it keeps saying it can't connect. I am using the correct dialup number so I am wondering if I have to purchase the 19.95 software to connect... also, is the aol software just a client or does it actually dial the number to connect?

to the best of my knowledge, you need the software to connect. You can try calling 1800-4-online and ask them how to do it on a ppc. MSN was able to teach me how to use my phone as a modem.
