Yahoo drops Google

Yahoo now has their own search engine, and has dropped Google.

To be more precise, they went back to their old search engine. ;)

I for one don't use Yahoo anymore at all, so it doesn't affect my results...

I'm pretty sure Yahoo has never had "their" search engine. They've always used other search engines for their site. First Open Text, then Altavista, then Inktomi, then Google. Not sure who they have now, but I'm guessing it's still someone else.

Too learn more about the Yahoo search engine, I of course did a search on Google News. :lol:

I'm pretty sure Yahoo has never had "their" search engine.
They most definitely have. They bought out Inktomi years ago, and switched to it. Then, seeing as how pathetic Inktomi was, they switched to Google. Now that they've worked in improving Inktomi, they've switched back to it.

This won't affect my web page search results, but I've just checked Yahoo's advanced image search (http://images.search.yahoo.com/search/images/advanced), and they have some options that Google recently axed. Any idea why Google doesn't allow you to search for wallpaper-sized images anymore?

I prefer the interface of Google to Yahoo, but Teoma (http://www.teoma.com/)'s interface is the nicest I've seen. If I'm not finding anything on Google, I'll try Teoma and get some very different results (Teoma is owned by Ask Jeeves, but lacks the horrible color scheme and has a cleaner interface).
