Movie2MemCard is a program for converting video files to make them playable on a handheld computer such as a Pocket PC or a Palm. It is a specialized front-end program for Windows Media Encoder 9 and for the included DiVX encoder

If you have a smaller memory card - perhaps a 64 MB one - it will allow you to convert a 90 minute movie which will easily fit on the card. Of course the picture quality of the resulting video is even greater when it is converted for use on a bigger memory card, but instead of being limited by the program, the only limitation are your choices.

Movie2MemCard makes sure you are not wasting time on getting a file that is too big to be transferred to the card you have.

Movie2MemCard has a simple, easy to use interface.

Simply select an MPEG, AVI, DIVX, XVID or MOV file located on your computer, cd-rom or network to start the process to convert it to a selected file size using optimal settings. Just a few clicks of your mouse will allow you to select a few options related to Audio Quality, Memory Card Size and Output Format, and then your conversion will start for you.

Additional details: Movie2MemCard calculates the information required by these programs based on your selections and the information from the selected files. These settings are then send to the actual conversion program, and it will show the encoding process in a separate screen.

Movie2MemCard also supports Batch Encoding, allowing for calculating settings for different files, and run these encoding processes in sequence without any additional steps required by the user. This works great for overnight encoding sessions.

For quick and easy conversion of a lot of files, you can select a template using special settings from well-known ppc-movie related websites for multiple file selection. (select a lot of movie files, select a template, change screensize if needed and hit save. Select a different template, hit save, start process)
This will allow for quick conversion of files without having to select files one at a time and calculate. This option uses fixed quality settings, and will result in a filesize that might not fit on a 128mb memorycard.

Movie2MemCard supports PPC 2000, 2002 and Windows Mobile 2003. It supports any device that can play DIVX files, including Palm devices, and by adjusting the screensize limits to your specific device, it supports any Windows CE device that can play WMV or DIVX files as well.
(for older devices you will have to select smaller filesizes to get a lower bitrate then the newer devices)

Requirements:

* Movie2MemCard relies on Windows Media Player 9 for gathering information from the selected movie file.
* Output to Windows Media format uses Windows Media Encoder 9, and is NOT included in the package, but can be downloaded for free.
* Conversion of .MOV files requires that Quicktime is installed.
* Any Windows version that will run above requirements.
* No specific additional requirements on the hardware, but the faster the computer, the faster the conversion process.
