OK, I'm pretty new to this stuff so go easy.

Just purchased a 4155 and am interested in connecting to the i/net using the 802.11 wifi. From what I understand, I can accomplish this only if I use the Bluetooth and Bluetooth enabled cell phone as a modem.

Can anyone suggest what type of Bluetooth phone - using the AT&T wireless network - would work best for this task?? Thanks in advance!

Bluetooth and wi-fi are distinct technologies.

Think of wi-fi as your ethernet (LAN) connection without cables.

Think of Bluetooth as your peripheral connection without cables.

For example you can use Bluetooth to connect a serial device (like a GPS, or a computer to ActiveSync), or a printer device, or a mobile phone. You can in certain cases connect to a LAN too but this is only one of the uses.

Wi-fi will let you connect the Pocket PC to your LAN.

See? Different stuff.

Now, to connect to the internet you can use your LAN or an Access Point (also called Hotspots). There are free and commercial available.

On the Bluetooth side you can connect to the internet using a mobile phone with a service called GPRS. This is provided by your mobile operator and will cost depending on usage or plan.

When you have clarified which one you want to use, then the next step is configuration.
